Meta-Graph: The Background to Dear Friend

The background story to Dear Friend is a sad one really. Me and my friend were as close as close could be, but she wasn’t very secure in herself and allowed others to influence her choices. She was talked into going on a date with a boy one of our friends had met at a party and started talking to. I knew who the boy was, one of the girls in our class had dated him when he was still in FA. I knew the type of person he was and I know the types of things he did. Though I told my friend that she could call me at any time to come and get her she never did. I got a call from her a few days later, she told me that she had lost her virginity to the boy even though they had just met, she had no intention of dating him, and she had been drunk. I was angry and upset, she wasn’t acting like herself. I tried not to act like her mother, but I figured that she needed someone to look out for her. She called me a few days after that and asked me to come and pick her up from in town because her mom was coming to get her and she was tired. As soon as I picked her up I knew that she was under the influence of something, and that it wasn’t alcohol since I couldn’t smell any. After we got to my house she told me that she had done dex with everyone at “the castle.” That was the nickname they gave the house they were staying at, if you could even call a place with little electricity and water and more fleas than fibers a house. Her choices led to a huge fight that lasted for almost a month. She eventually apologized for flipping out at me and told me that she still cared about me, but she wanted to make her own choices. I told her I respected that, but that I didn’t know who she was anymore so we couldn’t be as close as we had been before. We still talk now but things are strained since she’s always defending her new friends but never defending me.

  1. This is supposed to be a metagraf about writing the cause essay--but I don't see a complete cause essay yet, so...?
